This is my first theme, started because I couldn't find one that
behaved like I wanted it to. I would browse through the themes at
WordPress and found several that I liked, but each had problems to fix.
As soon as I started to fix them, I'd find more problems until I
decided I'd have to start from scratch (or the default theme anyway).
I'm a programmer, not a designer, so it doesn't look all fancy. But it's fast and thorough. I spent a lot of time trying to get it to look right in Internet Explorer, but I don't have a Mac or Opera or anything else except SeaMonkey (Mozilla) so I know the 2 major browsers work.
One of the cool things in this theme is the 100% background. No matter what size you make the browser window, the background image always covers the whole thing. The other is the transparent image in the header. It also resizes as the window size changes (or the text size). Any transparent image could be substituted, but if you prefer, you can easily remove the fancy stuff and just put a normal image as the background of the header.

This second theme was made because I couldn't get the image I wanted to
work in the header, and the Home and End keys made the browser behave
oddly with the fixed position header.
I used some "opposite color" techniques as used in graphics programs. So the text color is directly opposite the background color for maximum legibility.

I made some updates, and made this theme 2 columns.
